Rock Churches Tour
Rise and shine after a good night’s rest at the luxurious Primland Resort. Tour the countryside and visit five historic rock churches built in the 1920s by Rev. Bob Childress located in the tri-county area of Patrick, Carroll, & Floyd Counties.
The tour takes about 3 hours with a total of 70 miles to travel and allows you to not only see part of our history, but to take in some beautiful mountain scenery. The tour begins and ends at the junction of US Highway 58 Business and the Blue Ridge Parkway in Meadows of Dan, Virginia (Parkway Mile Post 177.7).

Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church – Built in 1932

Buffalo Mountain Presbyterian Church- Built in 1929. It was the first of the 5 "rock churches" founded by Bob Childress.

Dinwiddie Presbyterian Church- Built in 1948

Bluemont Presbyterian Church- Built between 1915-1950
